Structure & Daily Life

Grace House for Women offers a structured, supportive environment designed to foster healing, accountability, and personal growth for addiction recovery. Our experiential programming is rooted in evidence-based treatment and enhanced by practices that support the whole person, mind, body, and spirit.

Our clients participate in a balanced daily schedule that includes group counseling, peer support, self-care routines, and community involvement. Recovery-oriented structure is reinforced through esteem-building activities such as completing daily chores, feeding chickens, walking dogs, attending groups, volunteering, meeting with sponsor, and maintaining a regular routine. These consistent, purpose-driven routines help establish the healthy habits necessary for long-term recovery as women progress to more independent phases of treatment that include extended care halfway house and independent sober living.
We offer a variety of recreational activities to balance the emotional work of treatment. Clients may participate in yoga, walking, biking, swimming, or group outings like paddleboarding, kayaking, or community field games. Weekly activities emphasize fun and connection, offering opportunities to engage with others across all phases of the program.

Our clients are encouraged to build leadership skills and confidence by volunteering to lead a meditation or peer support group activity in a structured, supervised setting. These experiences foster empowerment, peer connection, and a renewed sense of purpose.
We provide access to spiritual practices and Twelve Step programming as part of a holistic recovery approach. These are available to all clients and encouraged as meaningful supports, but participation is always based on individual choice. Daily meditation is offered as a powerful tool for increasing self-awareness and emotional regulation. Research shows that mindfulness practices can help support brain health and complement clinical treatment by encouraging calm, focus, and insight.

Admission to our program is based on clinical criteria in alignment with ASAM guidelines. A brief pre-admission screening is completed by our clinical team to determine the appropriate level of care. Medication needs, financial considerations and coordination of care will also be discussed during this process.
